When people ask "how's work?"... err as in you mean the day job that I get paid for doing? Brrr... that's like the most boring question to ask me. If only there's a tag on my head that say pls dont ask "how's your work?".
Well, would that make me in denial? hmm... its not that i dun fancy my job, just that there are so much more interesting stuff that I can talk about! As long as I'm fine by my boss standard, no comment. I'm glad that I have another option to consider now, just got through an interview and now pending my confirmation of start date. But should I wait for convertion from my client? Trust the management? It's time wasting to figure that out.
My perception of the corporate IT world, it is a dog eat dog world. Everyone is all out to out-con each other. I dont really fancy all of that, so I control my life, not life control me.
Previously: i started this blog in my early 20's... My life is complete now with 2 kids, a son and a daughter. I associate myself being a mother after getting pregnant.

Choleric-Phlegmatic
What a contradicting match. After reading through the Personality Plus book, I realise that maybe I'm not what my personality is, maybe through certain changes that I've now become the different person that I am.
I remember when I first took the test, I scored equally for both choleric and phlegmatic, and I know I've always have contradicting voices inside me. Like I dont know if I should listen to the mind or follow the heart more.
If temperament could change through family upbringing, then I can see why I may have been genetically phlegmatic (following my father), but somehow shifted to be choleric due to my super powerful choleric mother's dominance. When I read through the description of peaceful phlegmatic to my dad, he answered yes to all of it! He thought the book was his fortune teller. Without needing to question my mom, she being born the eldest among 6 siblings in a small town, carrying on her shoulder the responsibility to take care of all her younger siblings from young... she dominates everyone. Even after marrying into my dad's family, she call for CNY gathering or cheng ming or family gathering for all. She takes the cane and whacks her children if they're naughty (ahem, referring to myself lah). Even my cousins are afraid of my mom.
Gathering my understanding of my mom's character, its no surprise that I grow up following her style. Yep.. but its SCARY! I really wish I do not become like her... but I've subconsciously following suit.
If like I refer to this article, where Choleric is fire and Phlegmatic is water, yeah... they're opposite. Thinking of my mom reminds me of fire, where her flame is so strong, its just amazing how patient my phlegmatic father has been.
Right now, I probably have to learn to strike a balance between both extremes. Maybe I should learn to apply the strenght from both world... and contra off the weaknesses from both side... by then... there will be no personality! Geez! Basically, I'm just me.

Speaking Chinese...
I'm born a Chinese, why cant I speak proper Mandarin? Well, I'm glad that I have the chance now calling Taiwan / China user in my line of work. It would help if I know how to translate technical words into Chinese, like what's "network", "troubleshoot",
"server", "remote resolution", "application"...
Having to put in more effort, then surely I can improve. Probably in school I never really put in the effort to speak properly in Mandarin.
Just last night, I was trying to talk about the camp to the UM Buddhist society, well my other team member did most of the talking, as my spoken mandarin, is sooo terrible! why weren't I speaking English with these university students? Hmm... sometimes, when I hear them trying so hard to talk, I just felt better if I'd switch to Mandarin.
Yet with my exroommate, I know her English is as bad as my Mandarin, yet since we're roommate, I really mix Cantonese-English and she too mix Canto-English with me. Yet there are times, when I really cant stand their English, I just revert to Mandarin, but my ex-roommates in uni will force themselves to speak English and not replying in Mandarin. Mutually benefitial.
Hopefully someday when I go to Taiwan, I can speak like Taiwanese! haha...

Why Daniel won
My 12 year old cousin sister used her dad's handphone to vote 4 times! When I know she screams for Nita just as loud, she said "I dunno why I just voted for Daniel 4 times".
My friend who voted for Daniel using her mom's handphone because her mom told her so. (Btw, her mom is 60+).
My aunty who voted for Daniel twice, because... NOW THIS IS WHAT I HATE TO HEAR... "because he is a Chinese".
I really wish to know out of that 1.2million votes, how many votes are genuine from the under 15s who'd voted passionately, and how many are the 'racist' votes.
I know many of my friends / relatives are so racist in nature, I really wonder how my dream for this country can ever be acheived.
I didn't vote at all, because I felt both the final 2 are already winners in their own realm. Nita was a clear cut winner but she's not a pretty boy. Who would vote Celine Dion over LinkinPark?!
I'm also sorry for any Malays who'd voted for Nita because she's a Malay, and felt so disappointed in the end.
I wish that this MI show, can slowly, but surely shape the impossible to be possible for this nation. Kudos to Ahmad Izham Omar for highlighting this transparency and creating an awareness of Malaysian voting trend for this nation's racially divided politicians to leapfrog...

Who will it be, Daniel or Nita?
I dont care! This DAY last year... I was on my way, at the KLIA, flying to Amsterdam with my buddy Yong Tien!!! Haha... OK, why how is that related to Malaysian Idol. Because I missed the 1st Malaysian Idol Final because I was in Roma, Italy! Remember I was crossing this street infront of this cool I dunno-what-its-called building, yes near the St. Angelo bridge (you read that in Angels and Demons), and I got my sms "Jac won Malaysian Idol"... I think I got 3 sms for THAT news.
*phew... Thank engineers for international roaming :P
This year, I'm not voting just as I didn't vote last year for the final. I just dont bother who is going to win, and with that, I wont complain if anyone had lost. I'm overwhelmed by the both of them, probably not equally... I salute Daniel's guts but I admire Nita's elegance. They're all stars to me. Having met them in person at a shopping mall, is cool enough.
Game over. It doesn't matter who wins tomorrow night, thumbs up to the organisers who brings all Malaysians together, one heart, one passion, one goal.
How often you see a Chinese guy shouting "Nita! Nita!" infront of the camera, or how often you see a Malay dude praising a Chinese bloke?! I hope it's all not fake... I innocently wish its all genuine singing praises for one unity in diversity.
Peace always.

Blue Moon....
Blue moon,
You saw me standing alone,
Without a dream in my heart,
Without a love of my own.
Blue moon,
You knew just what I was there for.
You heard me saying a pray for
Someone I really could care for.
Blue moon,
You saw me standing alone,
Without a dream in my heart,
Without a love of my own.
Blue moon...
Without a love of my own.

vocal teacher said, if anytime you're not prepared but asked to sing a song, pick something short and sweet! :P Like this one! It's been ringing inside my head since the last class, and I was zoned in... imagine if I was THE blue moon! Haha... well I actually like the orange sun better in the evening.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr..... sometimes I think its REALLY fun... if only I can REALLY laugh out loud at work.
My most memorable birthday yet!
Alright, let me pen off this before I really call it a night, darn
sleepy now, I could doze off in a split second.
My birthday ended with a great loud bang, prior to the stroke of
midnight. I was sending my friend home, after the mid-autumn
special musical puja, where my friend and I had the chance the blow
birthday cake together (again!).
The thing is, it was 10pm when the musical puja ended, and I really
wanted to be home watching Malaysian Idol result show, that's why I
brought my friend home together with me. (Boohooo only to see Farah
voted out, which is quite sad to me, who's really hoped she'd BE
the next Malaysian Idol).
Opps.. before that, upon stepping into my house, my loudest cousin
sister with my aunties and grandma started singing "Happy Birthday"
for both my friend and I.
So, as the show ended, I grabed my car keys, and my MOM from NO
WHERE, said she'd like to tag along with me to send my friend home
in Puchong. Fine. (I seldom have my parents following me wherever I
go).
After dropping friend off, on that quiet road, I went through 2 big
holes. Then, I felt there is something wrong when I kept stepping
on the pedal, the more I step the louder the sound of
"tetetetetetete", doesn't occur to me it's the same sound I
encountered prior to my last recent car brokedown.
I turned off the radio, I ask my mom to hear, she have no idea what
sound is that, and we went on driving, until I kept saying, this is
something WRONG... I was just hoping I could drive all the way with
this 'sound' back home safely (at that hour of the night, I was
quiet sleepy already).
Then my mom leaned over to see the temperature, yup.. I got a
shock, I pulled over immediately... well bad location on the LDP
highway, I draged the car further abit, off from the 3-line
highway, away from the speeding cars. The car didn't die-fire, I
just stop the car, turn on the hazard lights and get SOS.
Dont remind me how BLUR my father is, he has no idea where
"traktor" on LDP in Puchong, and he could have hearing problems.
The blessing in disguise was my mom with me all the time,
although she was just nagging / repeating the same sentences over
and over again, yet she being there at 11.10pm is cool enough for
me.
My handphone battery left with 1 bar, and my mom's hp battery is
completely dead. I managed to call dad and my bro, explain my
location... but batery was weak. I had to SMS the whole night
through with that little battery left.
At times like this, I see my brother is really 'smart', well not
booksmart but streetsmart. He arrived under 30 mins.
But we continue to wait until past midnight for the tow truck to
reach. Meanwhile I just played with the sms all the way, received
some birthday sms wishes still towards the end of the day.
All in all, I received really alot of birthday sms. Got a nice bag
from my Sunday-morning-exercise friend, got lunch threat at Pizza
Uno, got 'watermelon' too! Haha...
Well, yeah... I'm laughing really for this uniquely 'memorable'
day. I am laughing because of all day, my car would breakdown this
special day, just before midnight.
Of all the years, this year my birthday falls on the same day as
the fullmoon of the 8th Lunar month. This day, I will not remember
much, as I'm truly madly deeply... sleepy now.
Goodnight!

September
So... was saying how its such a buzy month eh? Aside from my special birthday, doh no big deal. But I'm too honest to keep reminding everyone that.
So I've celebrated my birthday with my diploma friends eating steamboat porridge -- its nice. Cant comment on price.
I've received a music CD and pizza for lunch from upm friend.
I've got a 'pig' from Tym.
I shared a cake with SzeH during a Sunday School exco meeting.
I got a cake today from my aunt and blew the cake in a vegetarian restaurant. (ahhh.. dont put the exact number of candles!!)
Early birthday wishes from a few people already...
wow.. showing off isit... nah that's just me.
Aside from this busy birthday month (coursemates, relatives, sunday school and my buddy YT), I'm getting more and more loaded with work, maybe because I did not abide by the "Time Management" rule before this. The newsletter was planned way ahead, but it takes a phone call that asks "So when can you send me the CD printing? This Sunday?"
***plllllurrrrrrrttttt****** cough cough... I said "WHAT???!" (in my mind, I know I'm not even 20% done yet!!) I am so going to burn the midnight oil...
Then there is this Sakyaditha website that someone asked me to do, so I said OK, by knowing I can outsource it to other people. Then from no where they ask me to show it "tomorrow"... WHAT?!??! OK OK... then I had to ask this web-designer friend who design website for a living, to do it for free for me. On what grounds??! I dunno... how can you ask professional designer to design something for you for free? sighh... then what do they survive on?
Hmmm.. that brought me to thinking... why dont volunteer organisation start learning how to pay for service... I dunno would that work? Few people from my Sun Sch is reallying looking at that, cos teachers are sacrifying their time and effort trying to give their best to the school... all for free. Sometimes, it stresses out alot of people.
If I could just pay a minimal free to my designer-friend, then you can really set your requirement right?! Now I can only be pending on her... get my feeling?
Then I have my deliverables for the camp, and the room.
Wah... what about my work? Well, that's the least interesting part of my life I feel. Still, I try to give in my full effort, if I'm still in the mood. Cause enthusiam dries up easily if I burn off too much energy too quickly. Eg. like yesterday I was charging like a bull, completing one job after another, trying to finish by 15th. Then today, the 15th... I felt like I'd no more drive left to continue whatever left to be done... its still not done. No more strenght. Not initiating any Netmeeting either. (i troubleshoot user's machine thru netmeeting not onsite). My point of working hard for them to see, is for me to proof to them that I am worthy for them to absorp me.
Hope this reasonable approach will be fruitful for me in the end. With my parents prayers for me and with Kuan Yin's blessing, may all our wishes come true! Yes, my teamlead is seeing that I'm good, so now have to go up higher level. So hopefully it all turns out fine, if I dont face with out-of-my-control factor. You just never know how business or corporate world works... well maybe you know better, but to me its like a huge Survivor reality show in reality. Outwit, Outplay, Outlast.
go sleep now... SEE i've not touched the photos editing again for tonight... :( how about Saturday.... lock myself out from the world... (hai.. but 1/2 Saturday is gone to Matta Fair).
