So busy, hardly could breath. Blessings to all the lost lives and suffering ones from the quake so nearby. Dont have time to read the newspaper but saw the frontpage news.
Dont feel like posting a blog now, cos I got real work to finish off by deadline tomorrow. Yet tonight I cant stay back in office, got sun sch newsletter to finalize, then send for printing.
Whole weekend gone with the wind just like that. Whole Saturday was at the WIFF making new friends and saw a cool Chinese-artsy-film that made my cry, because of the lyrics of songs / poem recited. Learned some Chinese-Buddhist-history that I never knew about, prove quite controversial to modern society.
Sunday morning went for usual round of walk, not without the worry that I might not have recovered from acute ankle pain the night before. During the heavy downpour when I was driving home (so late into the late), my right foot start aching... as I was driving in the havoc rain! Slowly peddling all my way home, safely. Rubbed some oilment... knowing I had to walk the next morning... guess what - I recovered! That was fast.
Slept a lil after that, then adjourned for a wedding dinner by the lake side, where I'll be a wedding MC!?!! whoaah.. tell my dad also he laugh. My chinese sucks... who doesn't know that! Tell my coursemate, and he suggested I record my MC-ing in Chinese, then air it on some humour-video-website.
*breaaattthhh..... shit also no time! Havent even done my writeup for the mag.
Streamyx oh streamyx, when are you coming back?!
Previously: i started this blog in my early 20's... My life is complete now with 2 kids, a son and a daughter. I associate myself being a mother after getting pregnant.

I dont understand why...
The top most thing that I cant understand about the AIdol is the comment by fellow female about Kat McPhee. Did somebody say she's making use of her sex appeal to win votes?! If a guy commented that, I'll say "so that's a problem to you?". If a girl were to comment that, I'll say "so what you're jealous ah?".
It's like I'm trying to say, if you think people should not 'judge a book by its cover' then we should not have a pre-perceived idea that "since she's beautiful, dont vote her" same goes to "since she's fat we should not vote her".
Maybe I'll respect all those who'd cheered for their idol but did not give negative remarks on the other singer. Maybe comments / opinions are only for our own self, maybe I'm not mature enough to swallow in other ppl's opinion which may be totally different from mine! Hmm.. sounds like it.. i have my attitude problem, not that I cant understand other people. Urrrggghshsshsh....
In terms of music alone, I do not dig 'soul patrol' whatever that term means. I dont understand why U2 keeps winning the Grammy and I never really fancy Bruce Springstein. And I switch channel each time there's a country music playing. I just dont know how to appreciate Taylor's type of music genre! As simple as that, I dont understand why people voted for him.
No doubt his on stage persona is so forceful, I enjoy 'watching' him, but I will not dl / buy his album for 'listening' pleasure.
Somehow I could relate this crap to my supporting Mariah Carey all these while, through the years irregardless what she's been through from the moment her 1st single 1st album climbed the charts. I cannot stand people kutuk MC. I have so much appreciation for her singing / voice, and I dont care how she looks!
Think I'm crapping no where, in the middle of the office, when I received the news that Taylor won. Trying to live in a world where I'm like a minority. Just like I wished Farah would win M.Idol. Wished Constantine would be in final. Wish the BN would not win so many seats in the parliament!

One of a kind Teochew Funeral
If there's anyone who'd really want my perception of Christianity, but not ready to hear me, do not read.
Just that, somehow things happens, you can see, you are aware, but we choose to ignore.
Ignore the fact that Christians, no different from Muslims are one of a kind. They think their religion is correct, their way do not allow them to bend their rules / ideas / practices.
Eg. a Muslim cannot eat pork, not even touch, or else you're not pure. They cant even 'look' at the picture of the ugly pigglings. Yet, we live in a plural society where there's pork/non-pork eaters everywhere. The pork eaters will be viewed as ridiculous in the eyes of one-of-a-kind Muslims.
Last night, I attended an elaborate Chinese funeral 'show' for my distant aunty. Most of the children/grandchildren were following the Chinese-sifu doing all the ridiculous rituals. But the 2nd son & family, who are Christians just sat at the side, watch and laugh. The other daughter of Catholic faith, also did not join.
By joining the ceremony of your own Teochew culture / tradition, does not make you less of a slave to the English-speaking-God, does not make you less of a gweilo-Jesus believer.
Are all the Chinese Christians in the world going to abandon their Chinese Culture? Worst still do they think that it IS ridiculous in the eyes of their LORD?
For me, I do not know a WORD the Teochew-opera-show is telling, but I know this would probably be my last chance to 'witness' such a typical traditional funeral ceremony in this 'modern' society.
I just wonder how nice if all other one-of-a-kind religious people could be less uptight. I'm not a Muslim, but in school we've always been following the Islam prayer everyday. Every other christian-style-funeral, I just sing along the praises of Chris Lord together with them, and sometimes I have to listen to their pastor preaching too.
Maybe I am one-of-a-kind Buddhist too, to the people on the other side.

Stealing a lil break
After lunch now, should have about 10 mins to steal. That's because the top priority workload is off the chest but there's more to come anyway...
So here's a quickie of what happened last night over at the Youth Assembly with the PM. Boy I've never see such madness over a 'celebrity' -- the Prime Minister. What is he New Kids On The Block?! Cameras, lights, screaming people, police, guards etc...
I was standing at the front of the line holding the 'flag' of ybam, representing the placard "Buddhist". On my left the Tamils on my right members from Felda. If I were to stand infront of me, I would have take this interesting shot of Indians-Chinese-Malays standing side by side, with very close proximity. I would take the opportunity to shakehand, make new friends, exchange namecard -- if the music / PA system was NOT TOO loud. I could hardly communicate.
In my wry frame of mind, I suspect it's a big BN propoganda to attract the easily-brainwashed youths of today ;) Woooh one big banner of "Pak Lah We Love You".... no comment. Maybe I should not blog about this here.. wrong place.
Let's keep out of politics here. The person, x who joined me in this rally, hmm.. wish I dont have to mention any names.. buf if x were to find out I kutuk her.. cham la me.
It's not that I want to kutuk, it's the way her naive mind works. If you know I live in naivety, she's unbelievable. I remembered so well how back in those days, although x is very vocal / loud / confident... she doesn't know what's she's talking. Well I'm in no position to kutuk her, as during the good-ol-days school debate, I was just 'timekeeper'. She was in the pembakang that went on and on on a point that is irrelevent to the motion.
Last night, she crap about wanting to find job as programmer or webdesigner, thinking life would be fun and interesting there. Yes from zero IT, after having worked 5 years in account / admin field with accounting & finance qualification. Sometimes I wonder if I'm wasting my saliva trying to talk her into finding a 'suitable' job for her experience/qualification.
If a company were to want to hire, there's thousands of jobless IT grad waiting to be hired. Where does x put her mind when she speaks so loudly? It's so eyeball rolling to hear x say accounting vacancy is saturating *HUH*. Puhleeaseee...
Sometimes, virtually I wonder if there's a 'switch off' button. Yeah, she was 'shouting' quite loudly when the PM was giving his deafening speech, to ask the crowd to make way for her to exit. Yeah, with her hands at her mouth shouting, but legs not moving, expecting the huge crowd to make way for her to move. How do you want me to tell her off 'shut up'? It's kinda embarassing if the crowd were to 'hear' her. But I guess the person beside could hear, but nobody is going to make way like that.
It's getting really annoying, not long after, I tried to physically make way through the crowd and get outa there with her.
There - got back home extremely tired. Slept through the night, not until I 'knocked' the wall by my bedside -- yes a nice bump onto the wall with my forehead. Geez.. never had I got so 'blur' in my sleep.

A night out with a mentally handicapped
Sometimes I ask myself if I'm actually anything at all giving... when you're really put to the test.
The test was to bring this girl out for a movie, in a cinema with people. I already know my patience is limited, have forgotten to radiate Metta since dropping out of Sun Sch.
Honestly, to me she's annoying. But anyone who see / knows her will sympathize / pity her, and try to be nice. Yes I've always been nice, so nice until she'll call me atleast once a week. She'll talk abt the 2 people that I dont really know.
She kept repeating that she's very boring and she wants me to bring to watch movie, but since I've already watch IceAge, which would be more suitable for her, I brought her to watch MI3.
In the beginning of the show, she ask 'why die already'? (That's the prelude). Then somehow the wife/gf of Ethan is the sister to her. Half way through the show, she starting digging her pocket, and just freaked out suddenly, sitting back, turning to me, in not quite a whispering voice "I lost my wallet!"
Then she pout, like almost going to cry, said to me "can you go and find for me?". (Whaddaya mean NOW?!? no way..). I tried to make her sit still, dont move, and stay calm. I assured her that I will find her wallet AFTER the show is over.
Then she said "got money inside"... how much? RM35. "I very sad".
Anyway, so the show went on, almost towards the end, when Ethan's wife was about to get shot in under a count of 10, she said "I want to go toilet!".
I said "cant you wait? its going to END REALLY SOON". She looked at my tragically again, saying "Nooo... cannot wait, its going to come out!".
*Siggghhh... There was a loud bang coming from the screen, I quietly stood up and shove her out to the door, but how stupid of me that I didn't know I had to push the door open instead of pull (without any handle). So, she knew that I couldn't open the door. Both of us went back to the seat, she had no choice.
Continue watching the show, and I wonder why she's not disturbing me about toilet.
As soon as the movie ends, she stood up and went to the door, saw the guard, and ask the guard "did you see my wallet"?
All I did was to go the back of her seat, and look under -- there it was.
Gave the wallet back to her, she's happy again.
It is freaking me out. I seriously do not have that much of patience in my life. I just suck it in, wondering how to release the steam. Why do I lack compassion when dealing with people like her? Would other normal people 'be as nice' to her and not feel at all distracted?
I know my mom would have aLOT more compassion than me. I wonder if compassion is inborn or developed? How do I develop more compassion inside? If I'm not compassion enough, why do I even answer her call and be so nice to her all the time? Who else will she go bug?
There are sooo many more under priviledge people in this society that we live in, how much care are we giving to them? To what extend that we should give and provide and serve the needy? Talk about volunteering for the UN or any international relief aids organisation... back home in my own backyard, it's already so challenging for me to practise patience and compassion towards freaky people.
Maybe like what Christians would used to say 'God is testing me'. God is testing me to raise my level of patience and to nurture gunuine compassion from within.

Happy Wesak / Happy Mother's Day
If there's any highlight for this year's Wesak celebration for me, would be helping my mom a weeeee bit in making 300++ Ang Ku Kueh as Dana for Wesak! With the help of my 3 aunties, they were busy rolling and steaming the Ang Ku Kueh for the whole night of Wesak Eve, while I was being blessed by Lama at a Buddhist centre.
When I reached home, even after midnight, they were still rolling the kueh for the last round, and I just tried helping them to clear /pack before it gets too late into the night. My mom the chief, is one freaky angkukueh maker. Never like the taste, I dont even eat it... but that's my mom's signature recepi.
Angkukueh aside, I was blessed by 2 Lama, both from the same lineage of Kagyu... did you know how difficult it was to me to 'memorize' the word Tibetan centre's name.. what Kayu..kagr.. then the name lf the 1st Lama was what..nordo.. no Lodro... my DAD's buddhist name is Norbo. Aiyoh.. then the Lama at Bgf is easier to remember, lama Samten. Tibeten words, such a mouthful to me, its hard for me cos I'm not a good listener and I'm bad at memorizing.
I think I better keep a bookmark of this explaination of Tibetan Buddhism. You know I dont like to simply follow / do what people ask me to do, without knowing what I'm doing.
Left: Lama Samten Right: Lama Lodro. When I showed pix of Lama Lodro to Lama Samten, he knew him! And I now know how famous is John Fam is, the president of the PJ Kagyu branch, who's my dad's childhood friend, who was raised as Catholic. This Wesak I broke my personal record of skipping the big walk! Just dont know how to 'give an answer' the next time I meet my temple crew members. But I'll be teaching this Sunday, significantly its Mother's Day! Hmm... with the projector booked for my class, I could find materials to last for 2 hrs eh?! Say how about showing slide shows of wesak celebration in different temples, other than the one they know. Maybe talk about importance of Mother, and then sing 'Braham of my Heart'. Now that would be cool... using the projector, laptop, CD player.. wow all in a small 20+ student classroom. Dont tell me they'll sing the Chinese version of 'Only Mom is best in the world' song during Puja, its more of a sad song than a happy song to me.
My mom is organising a mother's day dinner, and my dad is trying to be funny, to buy chocolate to give to all the 'fathers' coming for the get together dinner. I just have to smile and agree when they ask for me to share the bill.
Not sure if I'll make up for the procession in PJ tomorrow night, I just have to walk out of my house, few meters away to join the walk. But then they'll end in CBL, how am I suppose to walk back?!
I couldn't live up to my intention to practise vegetarian for this holy day. When I slept through the rain until dinner time, my mom digged me up to join them for dinner with non-vegetarian relatives. Then I say, maybe I can just eat toufu and vege... yeah right.
I remembered the short talk by Lama Lodro this morning, that on this holy day, if you chant amitoufo 1 time, on Wesak day it is amplified 10,000 times! So I thought, if I eat vegetarian for this Wesak day, means I'm practising 10,000 days of being vegetarian! The most farfetch story, that in Lumbini park, the Queen gave birth to Prince Siddharta through the ARMPIT!!! I smacked my head, rolled my eyes. Continue staying calm with so many people around me.
So there, here you are my most non-elaborate Wesak, which is what I would appreciate. Last Wesak I followed my parents to Thai temple, this year I joined them to this Tibetan temple. I am starting to label my parents non-sectarian open-minded Buddhist :P As always, Brahma of my Home, Braham of my Heart.
Happy Wesak! Happy Parents Day!

If I had a heart failure
Why
- I just had fattening, oily food aka McD for lunch without moving my butt out from my chair, my friend delivered right onto my table.
- Been sitting on this chair since morning till now, only going to toilet few times.
- The skirt I'm wearing is very tight, I thought it was OK when I was standing in the morning..
- After engaging at my work ingeniously, turning my head left-right looking at 2 monitors without turning the chair (as its stucked), hands keying endlessly on 2 keyboards, mind thinking, mouth talking...
- Drinking hot chinese tea, followed by ice coke immediately after that...
Symtomps
- Breathing difficulty...
- Feel like I'm getting a heartattack...
- Feel like I'm going to faint...
- I need to get out of my chair, but I dunno where to go...
Solution
- Lock myself locked up in the toilet, lying on the toilet bowl seat hopefully i dont faint inside.
- Keep stretching..
- Take deep breath...
- Rub my face
- Loosen my skirt
- Pray
What I really want now.. go and sleep!

oh its late..
Alright... getting past midnight. Finally settled the 2 tickets that I didnt wanna lose anyway. Cos its my dad's 60th bday, it WONT be a celebration cos he repeatedly reminded everyone NOT to celebrate his bday for this pantang age of '60'. My paternal grandma died not too long after her 60th bday :P when I was 6.
So the restaurant, still undecided, but rest assured I'll be swiping the card though I wonder how else to cut down on my expenditure, to cook up for a small sum for Cambodia in early July and for my AIA annual premium payment this month due! Very paiseh to "borrow" money from my parents AGAIN! :P Yeah.. see how silly I could get. Fingers crossed that I WONT have to borrow from my parents again.
It was a cool weekend, having to stay in Swiss Garden Hotel for free for 2 nights, but end up checking out the next morning after using their small mini pool for just 30 mins. The highlight was of course KaraOK at Neway for more than 4 hrs!!! Wonder if I'll ever organise a 'family' KaraOK buffet session, Neway opening in 1U in June.. we'll see :P It's rm40++ quite expensive to mom, but always OK for dad.
Temple this morning really chaotic, with the Caring & Sharing, also the Sunday before Wesak! News got me that sis. Bodhi's mom passed away too. I just squeezed in a short mtg with my publication team, and off I went to pick up the gals to head home, not without stopping at Mont Kiara Flea Market. That's when the mantra goes through my head "dont buy, dont buy, dont buy, dont buy..."
Did you know, during the late afternoon, WB came over to showcase his demo to my mom and my aunts -- again! I just slept through it on the sofa in the living room, half eavesdropping the session... you just dont know how I dun bother abt healthcare / skincare.
Then dinner at ss2, met AL & his entire family sitting just on the next table, there I whispered to dad pointing -- so that's one of your captain-friend's brother :P
After dinner, went to 'visit' mdm tan who passed away at the nearby crematorium. Saw bro Tan HS and all his 'gang' assuming his students?! I'm really bad at 'behaviour', I just "wave" my hand at people (even if ur the famous bro. Tan HS), instead of .. i dunno SHAKE? or clasp hand together? Smile + wave = my signature greeting. Hope I didn't looked too sampat, esp trying to be a 'funeral photographer' :P There were like 5 dead bodies there: 2 christian style, 2 mahayanese buddhist style, 1 theravada buddhist style -- all under same roof :P The mahayanese style is the 'loudest', they used a mic (which I dun think they should) and their chanting were so loud, its obviously distracting the other neighbour's funeral prayer.
So I was thinking -- be it christians, buddhists or free-thinkers, all beings must die. No matter how different the ceremonies are, the coffins looks alike. A split second thought arised, would be good if I know how to chant for Buddhist funeral ceremony, to give people service ;) Or maybe we could take the good thing from a Christian funeral to apply, ie. short Dhamma talk on reflection on death / rebirth. It's very boring to just sit there and eat kacang after the short Buddhist prayer is over. My mom was chitchatting with one of the daughter of the deceased on why the lights / candles infront of the coffin must always be lighted -- "to guide the soul" my mom said. As I overhead, I cant help but say "Buddhist got no soul"... both ladies stared blank at me. But then I cant be sure that I'm correct so.. there save my saliva.
Another short work-week ahead, another very happening weekend to look forward to.

Just for crapping
So right now I've downloaded some songs from Rod Steward and Jamie Collum. Yeah, can hear the sounds? Very self-indulging, heard of this term Simon used against idol Chris. I just lose myself away when I'm imagining things or listening to jazzm music.
Today at work, found out from the AU engineer (the only other girl field-service eng) that its her last day for our company. She's going to Europe -- NOT work but for TRAVEL! I thought she's already been to Europe before, she said "it was only for a couple of months, now I wanna travel for longer"... I was awestrucked.
Then I began like the transporter, I zooopp into Rome... wow. What was I doing, wow... in the middle of supposedly doing the asset management tracking crap in the office -- I just got transported into Rome, Italy. I was taking pictures and getting awestrucked by all the sights and sounds, there was the unbelievable train ride, there's the drunken people after Oktoberfest, there's the stunning monumental architecture, there's the bridge, there's the people, there's the guy who shared the same mix-dorm with the girls. The people were just so laidback. So unbounded by the little world. They just live.
So where was I? Somehow snapped out of the zone -- its lunch time. But I'll surely miss this AU engineer who's quite one of a kind. I dont mind working with people like her, who's sarcastic but she knows she what she's doing! Yes although the Indians seems to know what they're doing, but I cant understand what they're saying many a times. And you know what happen when my patience is tested time and time again.
So self-indulgent there I was, heck now Im missing my point of what to write. Yday during a conference call btw us the daughter-team with the father-boss, I was trying to getsmart again, but this time father-boss say "those are very good questions!".. Yeah of cos, its a question even he cannot answer. To a certain point, the father-boss replied that we should ask the brother-team how they came up with the design in the first place.
Then today, we conf call with the brother-team... I would say it was a bad meeting again, but the whole point of the brother NOT understanding my question made me looked like I'm one hell of the blurrest small fish ever. The point is, there is a "gap" btwn what the client wants vs what the big-brother-designer of the reporting tool. I'm in the middle, trying to meet the SLA and give what the clients want. There at the backend, we keep getting more and more faulty agents that needs to be fixed manually. But the big-brother team will blame on our team's inefficiency or incapability to follow earlier approved process / procedure.
Why are they so "process" oriented?! Everything you suggest from out of the box, will get shot down by the word "process". Remember I gave some managers a huge scare for turning zero from trying to be hero -- just because the questions I asked implied that I didn't know the "process" existed. Would the "process" make any sense if its bad / inapplicable process. Wish I could apply the advise by AT on becoming "solution provider" rather than "problem maker". I know I am a very big problem maker for everyone.
Sometimes, for my case, I just wish I could take over my teamlead's role and screw the rest of the other bully. Yet, in a world where sticky politics are so prevalent, you too become apart of the politics. Tell you what, I'm not inspired by what my teamlead often say "if its not your job, you dont have to do". Ahem...
Hopefully.... with my perseverance, I could take on more challenge roles, by still abiding by the great processes. Maybe I should reconsider finding new job in the line of consulting / presales / projects, somehow my resume spells technical. Surely, my time will come.
Music... it's a classy tune, without a title, I would think its instrumental jazz melody. Sometimes, when I plug on the earphone, even in the office, I would start moving my head, like I'm enjoying myself.
People... MGG Pillai passed away last Friday. Was a sad event for the Sangkancil forum. It has lost its soul. May the spirit of the highly spirited Mr. Pillai continue to guide and bless the country... There was this other SK member who 'found' my fotopg and found the picture I took of MGG Pillai, that touched him. I looked back at the picture -- NORMAL but with a sweet smile. Yeah, can you imagine a big size white beardy man smiling at ur camera ;)
Money... I closed one rm5k deal just this evening, not too excited but more excited than usual. This coming from a friend, not all my aunt/unc who have to buy from me in order to shut me up. If you in this business, the sky is the limit. You just talk to people, and depending on their capability, they invest with you, and you get 3%. There's this girl that the CMO of the company shared that, she's actually quite new, less than a yr she joined, she was well prepared and good in her presentation to a corporate client, she'd expect to get 500k but the client was so impressed by her sincerity, a RM1mill cheque was given to her. She got so emotional, she cried after leaving the client's building.
People... in this money-making industry, in my 2nd training as new recruit, 4 agency managers came to share their story. The first lady, who's a Malay was sooooo gorgeous, she has a celup chinese-malay-western look, very fair and poise. When she start to speak, her hands move, body sway, head tily, with that angelina jolie hair (only dyed blonde... I was trying very hard not to giggle. She is REALLY different from me. I think she must be 99% Sanguine and 1% Choleric. She went on and on about her obstacles and how she managed to earn soo much money in such short span of time, the rest is histry. The key point of all the 4 ladies who shared, boils down to the same question "how hungry are you?" -- bummer, wrong question to ask me. I could even skip dinner when Im lazy to eat. How hungry am I?! Just make hot milo to drink my hunger is cured!
Business... maybe this UT biz that I'm starting can be MY business?! You know without large sum of capital, and there'll be profit if enough effort put in. And the TIME is YOURS. If I have TIME for MYSELF... wow.. of course with enough money to survive, and THEN having the TIME!
Time... I wouldn't say Time is money, Time is money + people + self.
Sports... this BCC advertisment about Sports is really captivating. I mean sports "can bring people together". I'm talking about people from different races and cultures, enjoying and cheering and living the spirit of a sporting game. Probably what MGG Pillai would want to see, and what my naive imagination would like to dream off, what LKS is fighting for. But then, it wouldn't make sense to some people... maybe its utopia. But if sports can bring all the people together, if the Da Vinci's Code could make everybody read the same thing, if Yasmin Ahmad can do it... what's holding this dream back?
Newspapers... most of the time, I cannot stand reading local-political news. It's no fun at all not reading both sides of the story. Think why Dr.M is trying to put down PLah abt the crooked bridge? Who is a true Malaysian hero?
Idol... Katherine shs'e the bomb. I still like Paris. Elliot is sooo... Taylor why are u still there. Chris rocks.
What I owe... stuff that people want from me, whih i think is not important and casually I keep forgetting to produce what other people want from me. Can you imagine I'm also fitting in my time to be a nice friend to a not-so-normal-girl who was schoolmate, who'll call me once a week, and always remembering that I'm suppose to take her out for a movie.
Teeth... I will finally go see a dentist tomorrow morning.
Eye... I will find one day to check my eye, its the 'san kong' thingy I think.
This is a whole lota crap!
