The PMS inflicted weekend

What can PMS do to you?

*ok at the moment that I'm typing this, Thiery Henry just scored the goal for Arsenal!! GOAL!!!

From Friday late night (so sleepy during m.puja), when I yelled so loudly at my parents due to my stupid attitude problem - refusing to buy NST for dad while he was away to Langkawi for 3 days. There's some contest in NST that's why he wanted the NST, and I know I wont have the time to buy newspaper for him in the morning, by the time I finish work and do all the other stuff that's more important to do, I know I will 'forget' to buy the NST. So by not disappointing dad for 'forgetting to buy', I have to refuse to buy and hope can take no for an answer. It seems he can't take no for an answer, he can't understand why I can do all the things in the world, but I just can't buy a newspaper for him.

I still can't find the logic here.. *is it the works of PMS?!*

Then on Sat & Sun morning, it was all about exercise. My back was / is still feeling quite strain (dont wanna sound like I'm such an old lady)...

Saturday Night - LIVERPOOL BEAT CHEALSEA 2-0?!?! Now how can I miss that?!

OK, where was I, watching Japanese Drum Concert at Istana Budaya... the show was superb.. but there was anxiety running through my mind, which I find it quite illogical. Ok found the answer, most highly probably due to PMS!

*...Thiery Henry just scored the 2nd gOaL for Arsenal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then Sunday morning, teaching orientation class 7-8 year old students, could make you sink in watching the looks of the innocent cute kids. When I asked 'who else should you show your love and care for besides to the animal friends?' ... one boy sitting at the back, innocently very slowly raised his finger. I looked at him, and allowed him to speak, he said "God". I totally lost my instinctive sarcasm with the kids... I just talked very nicely and loudly reaching out to the kids, at one point my voicebox got disrupted.

Slept through the afternoon on the sofa, until dad switched on the TV to watch Malaysia vs Indonesia badminton finals! I'm like whoaah.. like totally awaken. How can I just go from 'sleepmode' to 'wakemode'?

After feeling so excited over Malaysia's victory, I went on cleaning-mode.... another sign of PMS!

Even now at 2am, you're asking why am I not asleep?! Err... PMS?! Arsenal beat MU woh!

Ridiculous joke

Ok, basically I'm just pasting the content of an email from friend. I'm still trying to digest this whole JeffOoi sued by NSTP hooha, which sounded really ridiculous to me even more so now after reading through a few blogger's comments. Newspaper suing a public civilian?! C'mon give me a break. If there really is a court case, please laugh together with me... I still find it hard to believe. I still find this a joke on earth planet. Maybe I come from out-ar space!

This is the official statement of Bloggers United. This statement is jointly drafted by Susan Loone and Sheih of Kickdefella. All those who believe in justice and right to free speech, please sign on and put this up in your blogs.

BLOGGERS UNITED CONDEMN ACTION AGAINST ROCKY & JEFF & DEMAND LEVEL PLAYING FIELD in ALL ACTION AGAINST BLOGGERS

We, Malaysian bloggers, we, who believe in justice and right to free speech, we, who endorse the Bloggers United movement, unanimously condemn the action taken by media conglomerate NSTP against bloggers Rocky Bru and Jeff Ooi. The action by the newspaper against the duo is an action against all bloggers who believe in their right to free speech, freedom of expression and justice.

The recent event may seem like a grave development in the path of bloggers, but it can never and must never impede or stop us from defending our right to speak, to express, to write and to tell the truth, to be the watchdog, eyes and ears of the people, or simply to share our view, and give fair comment on any subject which involves and affects us as humans, as rightful citizens of this country.

The recent event may very well give the government owned media the opportunity to dictate the so-called ‘truth” but such actions only prove that bloggers must unite, continue to uphold the right to free speech and freedom of expression, fight for justice, even if it is not our own, be more alert, committed to the cause of free speech, relentless and persistence in the face of such persecution like the one which had befallen on the two of us.

What YOU do to any of US, is what YOU do to ALL.

As responsible bloggers, we demand and claim our space on the blogosphere for free and fair comment, where important national issues and prominent personalities are discussed.

Although it may seem as if the NSTP defamation suits will have a chilling effect on freedom of bloggers, as litigation can be expensive and may jeorpadise a blogger’s economic position, we will not be cowed or silenced by those who have no regard for free speech.

If you find our post offensive, you may refute us with correct facts and figures and fair comment, in the spirit of free speech.

The first two cases will have grave impact not only on the internet, but country as a whole as the country celebrates VMY2007. The healthy, mature and democratic growth for free speech and expression in our midst is at stake. The reputation of the nation as it strives to promote our multimedia supercorridor and love for IT will be a national joke for all the world to feast on.

We demand for a level playing field in all action meted out to bloggers and in particular in the defamation proceedings particularly in terms of financial resources and capabilities, and secondly, that the legal rights of bloggers et al are properly protected in keeping with the imperatives of an information society and knowledge economy which Malaysia aspires to become.

New fetish with heritage patterned floor tiles

This (pic on right) was taken in Penang's Peranakan House which is a heritage building. That's when the idea was first came about.

I would admit that the initial idea came from viewing Mudz blog, my ex-cllg in Ac who had a profile picture of his feet at his blog.
Issshhhh, come to think of it, I wish that I didn't see his blog before, so then when I captured my own feet I wouldn't have this thought 'where have I seen this before'?

But still, think Mudz didn't have tiles below his selipar... so can I say this is still essentially my idea? You know like in creative arts you have to have your own idea and not copycat?

Well.. im so prone to copying / manipulating, knowly that my brain is lazy to think... to coming up with original idea is not so easy!

Just like you've most probably seen my wedding photo shots from somewhere else.

What is my my own brand / style of photographs? Hmm...

This is just but an idea, the idea of taking tonza pictures of heritage building's floor tiles which comes in different patterns & colours.
I'm fascinated that those tiles are all different from one another! It's like, if being an avid stamp collectog, trying to gather as many different print of stamps as possible, I've started to have this fetish of trying to capture patterned floor tiles with my feet on it!

What if I've collected more than enough pictures of my feet on heritage patterned floor tiles, I could have it printed like a coffeetable book for fun viewing pleasure!

Wakakakaz... sei mei, I think I'm really siow. Like my primary schoolmate will call me - sa poh!

The Overdue New Year Blog

Should I be writing about what happened over the long new year weekend or write a review of how's the year been or what's my new year's resolution / what I look forward to? See.. that's WHY I'm quite fickleminded to blog about new year.

Do I really have to refer to others' new year's blog to get the idea? Why do I keep talking to myself... hope I'm not paranoid, well I know who is, but am hoping I dont turn to become like that person.

Let's split the blog into sections...

Part A. The year that's been.
Hello?? Need I say it again? Other than my normal work stuff to rant about, the camp or temple stuff, the investment stuff, the new CITY, oh yes.. the year that was when Chief Rev is finally RIP... which lead to the surprise of the year for my entire life - whoooossshhh! No do you really want me to share how it all started? I think the way he explains it sounds more flattering :P

Hey I went to visit the Angkor in Cambodia in the middle of the year, now that's a significant great trip! You know I started the year quite, or very broke. Ahh.. now I remember, I overspent on the HK trip then took me months to recover. Also due to the fact I was being made to pay back ex-company 1.5months salary for failing to give 3 months notice for my most satisfying mastercard moment of resignation. Heck, I thought I've wiped out that part of my memory... its sickening to think back.

It's still very flattering, beyond my imagination that sayang found me at Chief's funeral, where else at the temple. I recalled that I didnt do anything, aside from just carrying my camera and acted like a photojournalist. He was one of the most sincere hardworking yellow vest usher bowing to every single human who came to pay respect to Chief. Like whoaahh.... so happen my birthday is like 18th days later... blahblah the rest is history.

Part B. New Year weekend that was.
The whole point that I wanted to share about is what 'Kuan Yin Liang Liang' have to say about my career at the present moment. On the 1st day of New Year, sayang brought me to see his 2nd-sis who could communicate with upstairs being... cos I was complaining about my work blow that seems to keep coming back. The last time I saw another assistant of KuanYinLiangLiang from Kepong, who gave me 'stuff' to burn & mix with water to drink to keep my 'siu yan' away. I'm don't exactly remember when was that, was it before or after I got converted or absorbed into present company. There are nice angels around me who'd help me, but devils do exist here in the corporate world.

You know what LiangLiang said... that I'll get better chance in my career (or was it I'll meet with success) only at 30. What's there to worry, its only 2 years more to be patient with! She knew, just like aunty Jenny knew, that I suck my steam / energy in. I mean learn to let go.. let it out. What's not visible about me, I'm mentally shooting at alot of people, at alot of things. I hate it if i blow up, I know I can control so I'll control. Cos when I blow, I will hurt people. (I can make my mom cry ok.. dont play play)

So the advise for my career now, be patient and dont fight. (ok if AT is reading this, he must be smacking either his head or my head) I mean before I'm able to learn how to talk emphatically, or learn to really be nice with people... I have to be patient?!?!

Oh the part about age 30. Did you know, when I was younger, I actually did put age 30 as a milestone. Ahem.. say you'll laugh, but maybe somewhere I've written before. I told my dad I'll either become a manager in a firm or be my own boss when I'm 30. Keep dreaming la.. that's my hope ma.. the karma chemistry thingy will work its way into what you want, if that's what you really want that you actually keep thinking / working / doing / hoping / dreaming about it! I dunno what's the term used to describe this point, like a Rainbow Connection.

Oooh.. on the boyfront, dont ask me that, I never thought / dream I'd end up with anybody, so that's like the song Something Good, from Sound of Music, where Maria sang to captain at the garden... so somewhere in my youth or childhood, I must have done something good ;)

Oh lord, please let me have the patience in my work life, to just go with the flow and have the opportunities to meet with good people that could guide me always!

Part C. The New Year that lies ahead.

May you and you and you, and me and my sayang be well and happy always!

Alright only in my UnitTrust sales training, that they encouraged us to set our yearly goal and quarterly milestone. Even my upline is advising me to set a higher target, so that I'll work harder for it. Wait a minute, did I tell you how much you could potential be earning being a sales agent? My goodness... I didn't know that. The trainer was saying, if you're not expexting for 5 figure / atleast double of your current salary, why do I even bother to join this line? I'm like uhhh hurrllo? You guys actually earn so much? Wooo.. I think they're walking the talk, they want to be rich, and so they go for it!

Aiya, dont let me repeat my whole why-do-I-have-to-be-rich mental battle, my upline could even say 'charity' can be your motive to be rich! Errr... somebody please inject me more dosage of Who Moved My Cheese. I'm so downright chinchai / easy to be contented in the material aspect... except I wouldn't mind splurging on a DSLR. Shhhh.. dont let my parents hear this.

Where was I? Goals for the year? Bleeegggh.. (just when I thought I couldn't think of any..) how about going for a meditation retreat! Aah.. sayang said, one of the requirement for dating him is I must go for a retreat atleast. Yes, where do you find a boyfriend like that!

I'm curious about how far this relationship will go, you'll never know if you dont find out!

I'm so hoping that I get positive / good appraisal for increament come mid year, the indication for hopping on new boat or stay put.

I hope BGF & BMV get wifi-ed as soon as possible.

I hope all who are sufferring, be suffering free.

I hope VMY2007 will really bring in more tourist to boost the economy.

I hope the tollrate will be seriously reviewed and not burden the people.

I hope there's more 'Sepet' type of movie to catch.

I hope I can really make somebody do something about the INCOVAR website :P

I hope I dont piss people off for no good reason.

I hope I dont get pissed off by stupid people.

The -The End- Part
hahaha.. adios! Goodnite! I'm done with this awfully long post.. think I took almost 2 hour writing this?!

Happy Visit Malaysia Year 2007!

Wow... you wouldn't imagined how sampat / crazy I can get. Go all the way to lake Titiwangsa to see fireworks?! Yes I did! S brought me and his bro's angmoh friend to THE venue of the VMY2007 launch, with the Eye-On-Malaysia so prominently erected right in the middle of the lake Titiwangsa landscape.

Somehow we cornered ourselves to where all the photograph-enthusiasts were positioned, it was so packed with guys, tripods and SLR. Don't care but it was kinda intimidating for me to bring out my tripod and my running-out-of-battery prosumer S2IS, then squeeze my way through, trying to get a good view... without the 'dangling' decorative neon-blue bulb wiring obstructing my view. Then there's the occasional itchy backside photographers infront of me standing up thus blocking my picturesque view. You have to check out my firework snapshots that I totally freaked out capturing @ my fotopages.
I thought those guys were journalist, maybe some were on duty, but I guess most of them were there for the fun of snapping great night landscape / firework pictures. Of course I also freaked out that one portion of the firework were out of sight blocked by tall trees by the lakeside. There were moments where my tripod was not firm, I can feel that either my hand or the camera moved, any micro movement could spell disaster for the superspeedy spellbound fireworks! With that I was controlling my self, using alot of concentration, like somesort of meditation, holdstill, except movement of the index finger triggering away...

Well, I couldn't careless where was DDVW (but I did sms him after the show, telling how fabulous the firework display was)... I thought I heard Michael Wong singing the Sunschool-most-over-sung TongHua. Ahhh! It was getting really late, had a tough time locating my Indon friend who couldn't find his way to the 'ferris-wheel'! S the really kind tourguide dropped me & Indon friend off at vihara before sending his Engrishman tourist back to the hotel.

All sweetness aside... my folks who caught the event live on TV, commented that our govn spent too much $$$ on just a launching event of this VMY2007. You know we're all speculating the petrol price increase, the fact that the toll rates has already soared rocket high!

The beginning of the year 2007 saw the KLCI breaching 1,100 mark, if it keeps going up that's good news for investors. This is abit of worry for me, I wouldn't know where is the threshold level where the index start to fall. Have to be more alert of the market outlook and know when to sell / redeem / switch if necessary. Aiks upline advise to attend more financial talk to keep abreast with info la...

Let's continue storying my 1st week of new year 2007 happenings on another post... (like why can't I just write immediately and not wait a week later?!)

Tis' the season to be jolly.. ka?

MERRY X'MAS EVERYONE!!! Hello?! U there?? Where have you been!?? Well, who am I talking to actually? To you, my blog readers or to me myself who'd not been blogging so frequently lately... If nobody is commenting on my blog anymore, then I'd be thinking nobody is reading, then what's my point of writing?

But how can I just stop writing and control myself from craping about stuff that's happening to me... actually it doesn't matter, maybe I've already crapped it out to people around me, and then the energy to use to re-write/tell the same story will be less intensed. I still can't bear to just openly write and share about my personal story about my ahem so-called boyfriend in here. Like in real life, when people start kidding with me using their astonishment-stare when they discover that I'm actually dating somebody... meijoonised-grin sets in.

Work life!

I was in for a shock when my teamlead and mgr left me a bombshell, that I've been underperforming (their interpretation of my questionable work performance) after 1.5 yrs of being in this chineseee-firm. AT has his way of interpreting work problem in the most positive way and gave his piece of advise to me --
"as long as u put value in it ya.. maybe what i am trying to say is that...we all hav to take ownership of our own life and how ppl see us.."

"if got misinterpretation... we hav to correct it, and not wait for others to realize it themselves coz that wont ever happen"

"take ownership of the prob.."

Hmm... let it slowly sink in me. I've heard of this term quite often in times of conflicts or when problems affect multiple teams. Who's the owner of this and that? Who should take ownership of this new problem? My old teamlead is one who do not take ownership of problems, but my new teamlead seems to very proactive in taking ownership of things. I'm so white hat, that you know I dont give a shit what happens, cos when shit happens, it just happens and then I just provide solution. I think I left out the part that I'm supposed to take ownership of problems.

My mgt thinks I'm not proactive enough, not initiative enough and have problem with communication. Ahem... yeah, tell me about it. I guess I do not really know how to speak very professionally that's deemed unfit for professional-minded people.

Wait... how can I forget what AT said, I should talk emphatically?! Feel and understand what the other party is trying to get, solve their interpretation of the problem eventhough I may have already solved my problem. Waah.. then I thought, AT was trying to preached for me to have more compassion towards people. Ahem... true true... I know I lack compassion...

Ajahn Brahm said "Wisdom & Compassion are the two wings of a bird, if you only have one of it then you'll be flying in circle." Sei mei... seems that I'm putting in good use of all the Dhamma teachings that I'm being exposed to. Ishhh... use wisdom and COMPASSION at work when dealing with problems and people... *phew...

Hey you heard of this AB story abt a Thai monk solving a supercomputer glitch at NASA through meditation?!! I wonder if I could try that *lol* of if I did try send Metta to the server & network and if it really did resolved my current work-challenge, how am I going to explain it?!? They're all trying to narrow down to the rootcause.. at times like this, I wish I was more network-competent, to understand how NAT / MPLS / OSI7-layer have effect on the failure of our application to function properly after the MPLS migration.

OK where was I? hmm.. lotsa crap to shout out still... like there's a new album by
Joey Mcintyre!

And I was really inspired by MPNCK's new found friend, who also suffer from spastic but yet lead through a purposeful life, although coming from a very poor family background. Let's see if I have the chance to reach out to her.. or if she's in need of any help. Maybe I shall first correspond with her through email.

I'll be looking forward to a mini Penang getaway during this xmas season... lotsa more activities to get occupied with. Not really progressing in my UT sales.

aaaahh... to learn to take ownership of my life?!! brrr....

the camp and the accident...

It was a camp based on we being rooted in the 5 precents, with a theme ~ Calm Islands in Stormy Seas ~

There the committees were trying to advocate the importance of upholding the 5 precepts and being grounded with good values, there I was coaxed into giving false speech in the midst of making police report of my car accident.

On the 1st day of camp, in the morning, I was being ridiculed for asking one participant to wait at KJ LRT instead of asking him to wait at SJ KTM (ok I know how silly this sound, but I wasn't really thinking, cos I rarely put my brain in good use). So in the early morning heavy traffic with everyone rushing to work, I was caught in a crawl all the way to KJ LRT trying to pick up one participant. On the LDP, it was stop-and-go situation, the old van infront of me suddenly stop, I stepped on my brake as hard as I could, but the Honda civic behind of me just slammed into my car, as if he didnt apply his brake!

That's not it! Somehow, my car was thrust infront and my slk was sandwiched btwn these 2 sturdier vehecles. Ya-allah.... in split second, I took out my namecard, exchanged namecards and jot down the carplate number of both vehecle and advised the driver to banged to me make police report.

BUT the malay dude infront of me do not want to report, cos his van bumper was only minorly scratched. He only ask for rm40 or rm50. I said ok, just call me for it. So both me and Honda driver agreed not to involve the van infront. How silly is that?!??!

I was trying to 'help' the vehecle infront, by not mentioning his vehicle in my police report, AND the motor-insurance people made a helluva fuss with me! How am I suppose to claim and pay for the front damage which is MORE severe than the back of my slk?!? OK, it didn't occur to me the front is more costly mah! Cos my slk was still running, the engine didn't die.

I still manage to drive my car away from accident spot, to pick up the participant. But dad came to rescue, well to switch car with me, so that I could send the participant back to camp.

Then I went about with camp stuff, it was a very high-spirited camp! If last camp was very hyper, this camp is almost the same energy level bt with LESSER participants! Imagine having 50-odd participants, still the spirit & noise of the participants is just as havoc as last camp.

Bro. Oh KL said we were like some black-society of something, he too had never seen such a hyper bunch of INCOVARians through all his years of being guest speaker. On the closing of the camp, I was the MC, honestly I didn't prepare. I dont really know how to close the camp on a high note, but the people are already very 'high'. I just have to say a few words of thanks, and gather the committees & faci for a last round of INCOVAR-Love-You cheer, and that's it!

They just went on and on singing igemz songs, and the We-Inspire song and just swayed and held hands and... I dont care liow...

I just had to get on to my dad's car who came to pick me up 4pm sharp to head on to the police station, to further 'edit' my police report. It was a camp that I learnt to keep my precepts, but there I went to the police station again, to ahem, do some magic.

I didn't really know 'how' to do the magic, I got my bro to come help me. You know when you shake a hand, something gets transfered from one hand to another.

Anyway... I learnt my lesson, to tell the truth. I mean, I wouldn't have to return to the police station again, and let the insurance people / my parents nag me, if I were to report the whole accident as it is. No need to be hero.

To my SLK... I'm sooooo sorry for you. My dad will seriously consider writing it off. Sigh... Omituohuut! (Bro. Oh Kim Leng never fail to impress us with his gila jokes and amplifying the energy of the participants!)

pointless...

ppl ask why I dont have update on my blog? I also dont know why. see the way I write is totally completely pointless.

i wanna complain abt my workshit, but then nothing that I cant handle. Cos at the end of the day, I just do my job within my capacity and I have nothing to worry about. Just wished that my teammeate would not go MC or on leave so often, that I find him completely useless. My teamlead is still on a long confinement leave, and my teammate has not resigned. I've been working alone for my team for these past few days, solving problems together with vendor and even joined conference with delivery manager.

i was sounded as being 'monotonous' and I think I better take note of that and try to speak more professionally and fakely in this business sense. you know how I talk to bosses, except when I'm talking to chinese-speaking engineers from China/taiwan, basically my english sound so monotone, I came to realise it myself.

"How's work today?"
"Normal"

Normal?!?! My SG boss got the idea that I am so blunt. I guess I really dont make sales person or consultant if I continue being sooo 'serious' with my words used.

With the girls, I dont see myself talking about hair, baby, the tv drama, clothes, the shop the whatever.

Even when I talk to enduser on the phone, esp guy from AU, they'd suddenly ask me "how's the weather in Malaysia?" what goes thru my brain -- what do you want to know what's the weather like in Malaysia? Like you didn't already know the weather is always either raining or fairly bright sunny.

Anyway, I humbly obliged and talked abit about the weather too.

oh dear me, I'm going pointless.

at the end of the day, I'm still me. that's who i am.

'Jangan Potong Saya'

I received this SMS from my mom:

"Ah Ma was cornered by 2 Indian guys with knife pointing her neck right infront the house while opening gate lock & cut off her gold chain & pendant. Very lucky she was not hurt. She told the guys -- jangan potong saya! -- and she did not struggle."

*phew... my grandma is fine and unhurt. I said my thank you prayer that grandma is safe, but I cant help visualizing my grandma speaking bahasa.... very funny one... you have to converse with her to know what I mean.

See la... wear gold chan for what. Shoot.. I think I'm wearing a golden looking necklance that is quite worthless but if I ever encountered 2 men with knife point at my neck, I will freeze too! And repeat : Jangan Potong saya!

My friend who was taekwando black-belt also didn't put up a fight lah when she was cornered...

Ah... Malaysia, my beloved country. No where else in the world, you hear of such cases happening with so high frequency.

Wait and see...

Wait and see,
what's in store for me?
Twist and turn,
when will I get burned?

Suddenly,
somebody found me.
Enchantment,
sent down from heaven.

Whatsmypoint,
now my words dont seem to join,
How to write,
with insecurity I fight.

My teamlead lost her baby,
My teammate got new offer that pays handsomely.
Should I even care?
These politics and corporation affair.

Am I guilty...
for wishing for this opportunity?
She's on confinement leave,
He plans to go earlier by clearing his leave.

Its my life,
for love and future I will strive.
What's in store for me,
maybe I shall wait and see.
